The Ada Mae
New Bern's iconic skip jack passes by the gazebo in Union Point Park. The 5"x7" card captures a unique view of two of New Bern's most popular attractions.
Another Day in Paradise
OK, I live near New Bern but Beaufort is also one of my favorite places. This is a view of the city docks on a perfect day. I LOVE this place.
Beaufort Gig
Characterized as a drinking club with a small rowing problem, the Beaufort Oars periodically row a pair of beautifully crafted wooden gigs around the harbor to the delight of onlookers.
Beaufort Gig, Antiqued
The Beaufort Oars periodically row a pair of beautifully crafted wooden gigs around the harbor to the delight of onlookers. I antique the appearance of the photo deliberately for effect.
The Frytha
A gorgeous shot of the Frytha's bow. This beautiful, barque rigged boat wintered to the delight of most viewers right in front of downtown Beaufort.
Frytha Morning
Reversing position I caught a beautiful shot of Frytha and the town docks in Beaufort. This is the same shot as the header on my facebook page.
Foggy Departure
Too foggy for me to set out but that didn't stop that fellow on the left . . . there . . . . in the fog. I had planned to depart Beaufort myself that morning as well but decided that discovering new and interesting ways of running aground was not a wise idea.
Journey's End
Don't know where these guys came from or where they were bound next. (like THEY did, they're sailors for God's sake) But they made for a nice shot.
Neuse River Dawn
I often get this view from my boat in the morning. I actually live in Bridgeton, across the Neuse River from New Bern, bur WE get the best sunsets and our dawns ain't too shabby either.
Puffin
Puffin is a trawler designed to look like a tugboat, the architects did a good job with that. I think everyone in the marina loves this boat, I know I sure do.
Silver Skies
Another view from our side of the river. This was a most strange occurrence, an afternoon fog, the first anyone can remember. If was almost Twilight Zone spooky for a while.
Racing on the Neuse
This was shot during one of the San Juan 21 national championship races and I took some Photoshop liberties with the image.
Safe Harbor
This is truly a comforting sight to any mariner. I like to walk the docks of marinas (especially MY marina) and photograph the boats at rest. Its always a living kaleidoscope with new boats coming and old boats going. Far and away the most dynamic society I have ever been a part of.
Sea Vixen
This crossed the line into Fantasy, but I kept it here because it was aquatic or maybe nautical. Take your choice.
Memorial Day
OK, not everything I shoot has a boat in it. Shot ON Memorial Day several years ago in the national cemetery here in New Bern.
To His Coy Mistress
I shot this swan in Bahama, NC not the Bahamas. This one was part of a pair and there was even a black swan in this little pond along with scores of geese and hundreds of sea gulls. Go figure.
The Summons
Oh, she really should not be doing this at all. Of course, this card could be used to summon someone to an RPG session or a visit or even dinner. You could have a devilishly good time.
Stop Reading Over My shoulder.
One of my most popular images, many have been sold at fantasy cons and renaissance fairs.
Beyond The Morning Light
A young Druid launches her hawk into the morning light. People really seem to like this image too.
The next section consists of 5"x5" card, but these also come with envelopes and sealed in plastic. I wanted to try some photoshop effects in things other than fantasy so these are not straight photos.
Oh, you saw that already? Well, I'm sure you'll like them. Trust me, this is Alan. . . . . . well, trust me anyhow. |
