Photo Manipulation

I not only like to take photographs, but I also use them as a basis to change them into other scenes. This page is in two parts, first is from an online contest site I have competed on for many years, the second part is manipulations I have done for my own amusement.

Clicking on any  thumbnail below will open a larger image for viewing and descriptions.

Here is a sample of online competition and below are samples of the original contest source photos and my revamped entries. At left is an explanation of how one contest image was reworked.

Compete yourself!

photoshopcontest.com is a website where Photoshop techs can compete with one another for free. You can sign up and start playing immediately, just try it! Sign up today.

The images in this section are two part displays. The initial image is the original source photo supplied to every contestant to begin to work upon. Mouse over each to see the finished product.

This section contains some of my images I am just fond of.
Nothing Lasts Forever - I ended up with flower all over my desk doing this one. Shot in Durham, NC
Self Portrait - I sometimes feel this way doing these Photoshop Chops.
Heart Maze - Love is tough sometimes.
Nightmare - We've all had them.
Narcissism - When your best friend is . . . . YOU!
Storm Sonnet - A combination of three photos, one of which is original (Melinda) but the verse is all mine.
Red Neck Lemur - ever notice that people and their pets eventually start to resemble each other?
Ghost Ship - Ship shot in Seattle, captain shot in Durham, NC
Saturday Night Poker (the many faces of Alan) - The odd thing is although I never seem to lose much, I never come out very much ahead, either.
