It's all over but the shouting!

It was a nearly three year journey . . . . if you count researching and deciding upon the architect and contractor, then getting the plans drawn, the permits acquired, the special use permissions from the county and the actual demolition and reconstruction. That factors in waiting for our chosen contractor
to finish the jobs he was embroiled in, the rain, the mud, material back up and the normal and usual building delays.

The plans were good and it was worth waiting a year for our general contractor who did a stellar job. The old house was gutted, a bedroom wall removed, half the floor and ceiling had to come out, the living room floor had to be raised 4 inches to match the rest of the house, everything had to be brought up to code and the county had to approve of everything. We were absolutely blessed in that everyone we had to deal with, the permitting office, the sales staff at Lowe's, the sub contractors, the flooring guys, the kitchen specialist, the Latino dry wall installers, the electricians, HVAC installers, plumber, everyone did a superb job and treated us like we were their favorite client.

Even through all that, the work was not only done pretty much on schedule but to an extremely high standard.

Thank you all.
